My name is Debra Nelson and

I am the owner of Huggybug Pet Service. Originally from the Midwest, I've been a resident of Sierra Vista for the past 20 years and yes, the military brought me here (as it has so many of us).

Many, many years ago (and I won't say how many), when I was going to college, I did pet & home sitting to pay the bills. I had an old Volkswagon convertible I drove around and I called it the Huggybug.

Fast forward to the present (and doesn't it seem to be going faster?)and in the

past several years I've worked for Cochise County, a local management company and for a local firm as a technician testing various building materials.

Four years ago, due to injuries from an accident, I had to resign my position and

I thought to myself; what could I do for a living that I know something about? A job that I'd really enjoy? I thought back to my college days and the answer came to me! With numerous pets myself, along with a lifetime of experience in pet care, this was something I could do and love.

I opened Huggybug Pet Service in the spring of 2007 and I've never looked back!

Credentials

Huggybug Pet Service belongs to NAPPS (National Association of Professional Petsitters) and all pet sitters have taken or will be taking the approved NAPPS courses for the NAPPS certification program to become certified in pet sitting. Huggybug Pet Service is also certified for pet first aid and CPR and strives to keep up on all new ideas to improve our service.

Doggie Sleepovers

Let your pets sleep like babies!

For petsitting in your home, hours are 6:00am til 8:30pm. Each pet visit or multiple pets visit lasts 30 minutes and kitty visits or easy care visits are 15-20 minutes.

Fresh water is put out and your pets are fed according to your set schedule.

I'll walk and pick-up the doo for your dogs, clean the litterbox for your cats, net the leaves from your pond, feed the fish and change the paper in the cage for your birds.

I'll play with and give hugs to all your pet babies, so they can stay home and sleep peacefully in their own beds.

Included, free of charge, I'll bring in the mail and papers, water your plants, take out the trash can, do a security check of the house, change lights and readjust the blinds; so your house always looks occupied.

If having a professional pet sitter come into your home to care for your pets isn't a viable solution for you, I also offer pet sleepovers. Your dog(s) would stay in my home, uncaged, on either one of my big dog beds or his/her own. I have a 2 large fenced yards for outdoor time. I give supervised playtime, with or without my dogs, depending on temperment, inside the house and outside in the yards.

Meals and treats are provided, or you can bring their own of food, treats, and toys.

Large energetic dogs can be leash-walked on our 12 acres. Pet "sleepovers" at my house allows your pets to be in a quiet, home setting, with more personal attention. Play, affection, hugs and walks are all included!
